Abstract

A novel octylphosphonic acid (OPA)-catalyzed, high-efficiency, three-component polymerization system involving benzoxazines, odorless isocyanides, and water was developed to synthesize polyamide derivatives with satisfactory molecular weights. This polymerization system showed the advantages of atom-economy, wide substrate scope, short reaction time (6 h), atmosphere-insensitivity, and mild reaction conditions (metal-free catalyst and room temperature).
