Abstract

Trifluoromethylthiolation-peroxidation of alkenes using AgSCF3 and tert-butyl hydroperoxide has been developed in the presence of a copper catalyst. The method exhibits a broad alkene scope with excellent regio- and chemo-selectivities, providing a variety of β-trifluoromethylthio peroxides from readily available materials. In addition, allenes can be applied to deliver the trifluoromethylthiolation-peroxidation products containing a vinyl-SCF3 moiety.
