Spontaneous symmetry-breaking in halogen-bonded, bent-core liquid crystals: observation of a chemically driven Iso–N–N* phase sequence‡
Literature Information
Carsten Präsang, Adrian C. Whitwood, Duncan W. Bruce
A chiralnematic phase is observed in a halogen-bonded, bent-core mesogen, which is itself achiral; the phase sequence arises from the lability of the halogen-bonded complex.
