Oxidative, chemical cleavage of the C–P bond in 1-amino-1-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)methylphosphonic acid upon the action of NaIO4 have been the subject of the NMR, EPR and UV-Vis investigations in acidic and basic conditions.
