Abstract

Tough double network (DN) hydrogels were prepared with various contents of rhodamine (Rh) mechanophores (0.3, 0.5, and 1.0 mol%) that undergo colour changes from colourless-to-pink with external stresses. We further demonstrated a facile platform between the colour changes and external stresses through converting photographs to mechanographs.
