Abstract

Charged donor–acceptor [3]catenanes comprising the π-accepting cyclobis(paraquat-4,4′-biphenylene) and π-donating aromatic crownether macrocycles have been prepared in high yields using thermodynamically controlled dynamic nucleophilic substitution.
