Ultrafast dynamics of the 11Bu-state of 1,3-butadiene after excitation at 204 nm

The ultrafast dynamics of the 11Bu state of 1,3-butadiene was investigated in real time in a femtosecond pump–probe experiment utilizing the RE2PI scheme. A lifetime of 35 ± 10 fs was found for the 11Bu state of the jet-cooled molecule.

Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics (PCCP) is an international journal co-owned by 19 physical chemistry and physics societies from around the world. This journal publishes original, cutting-edge research in physical chemistry, chemical physics and biophysical chemistry.
