One pot synthesis of isocyano-containing, densely functionalised gem-difluoroalkenes from α-trifluoromethyl alkenes, alkyl halides and TosMIC

Here we report a base-promoted one-pot, three-component reaction of TosMIC with α-trifluoromethyl alkenes and alkyl halides for the synthesis of isocyano- containing, densely functionalised gem-difluoroalkenes. This protocol displays broad scope and excellent functional group compatibility. Moreover, we demonstrate that the products can be used as precursors to various medicinally relevant fluorine- or heterocycle-containing compouds.
