Journal of Inorganic Biochemistry
Basic Information
The emphasis of the Journal is on interdisciplinary research covering the structure and mechanism of action of metallo-biomolecules primarily at the molecular level. The Journal reports on the chemistry, biochemistry and the structure-function relationships of the following systems: • metallo-proteins and metallo-chaperones in homeostasis and trafficking • metal-dependent gene regulation and signalling • metallo-proteins and metallo-chaperones in homeostasis and trafficking • metal-dependent gene regulation and signalling • interaction of metal ions as well as coordination and organometallic compounds with nucleic acids, other biomolecules and reactive species • metal-containing molecules in medicine, including therapeutics, imaging agents for diagnosis and theranostics • metalloneurochemistry and the role of metal ions in sensory perception • regulatory role of metals in immunology • synthesis and application of metal ion sensors in biological systems • natural and artificial metallo-enzymes • synthesis and properties of metal complexes as structural and functional models of metallo-biosites • preparation, structural characterization and mode of action of synthetic metallo-bionanomaterials • molecular mechanisms of toxicity of metals and metalloids and their complexes, and their chemistry in the environment • computational studies of metallo-biomolecules and their synthetic models • biophysical, analytical and spectroscopic methods to study metallo-biomolecules
